”Músicos ante el Abismo” nos relata las excepcionales y asombrosas circunstancias, desconocidas en la mayoría de los casos, que constituyeron el particular “abismo” de cada uno de estos grandes compositores, corolario de un destino tan trágico como esperanzador.
Lejos de la biografía convencional, “Músicos ante el Abismo” se estructura como una colección de relatos que , basados en hechos reales debidamente novelados, nos sumergen en el personal e intransferible abismo (entendido como situación existencial límite) al que tuvieron que enfrentarse destacados compositores: Beethoven,Schumann, Chopin, Chaikovsky, Sibelius, Mahler, Granados, Messiaen –entre otros–; músicos todos ellos reconocidos y admirados que experimentaron, en algún momento de su vida, el vértigo existencial, al tener que enfrentarse a una situación crítica, bien en su actividad creadora bien en su trayectoria biográfica.
